About Us:
We are a dynamic startup building a satellite imagery analysis platform that transforms how the agriculture, commodity trading, and insurance industries use geospatial data for crop health monitoring, yield forecasting, and risk management. By leveraging satellite data and AI-driven insights, our platform helps businesses make informed, data-driven decisions.
We are looking for a creative and experienced UI/UX Designer to craft intuitive and visually engaging user interfaces that simplify the complex data and insights derived from satellite imagery. You will work closely with our product team, developers, and data scientists to create a user experience that is both powerful and user-friendly.
Responsibilities:
As a UI/UX Designer, you will be responsible for creating and enhancing the user interface and overall user experience of the platform. Your key responsibilities include:
- Design user interfaces for the satellite imagery analysis platform, focusing on delivering intuitive, clean, and engaging experiences for end users in agriculture, finance, and insurance sectors.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design concepts and collaborate with product managers and developers to implement those designs.
- Focus on data visualization and geospatial interfaces, ensuring that satellite imagery, charts, maps, and insights are presented clearly and are easily interpretable by non-experts.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to understand customer needs and pain points, and iterate on designs based on feedback to improve usability and engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, frontend engineers, and GIS specialists, to ensure that the designs align with the platform’s technical capabilities and constraints.
- Establish and maintain a design system and UI/UX guidelines to ensure consistency across the platform.
- Ensure responsive design and cross-browser compatibility, providing a seamless experience across desktop and mobile devices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends in UI/UX design, data visualization, and geospatial tools to continuously improve the user experience.
- Lead the creation of user flows, journey maps, and personas to guide the development of user-centric features.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in designing web-based applications and data-driven platforms.
- Strong experience in creating interactive, data-rich interfaces with a focus on data visualization (charts, maps, dashboards).
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision for creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
- Experience in user research, usability testing, and design iteration based on user feedback.
- Understanding of frontend development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and experience collaborating with developers to bring designs to life.
- Familiarity with geospatial data and experience working on platforms that handle map-based interfaces (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, Google Maps APIs).
- Strong understanding of responsive design and experience creating mobile-friendly interfaces.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present design ideas and rationale to stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Bonus:
- Experience designing platforms for agriculture, financial services, or insurance sectors.
- Knowledge of geospatial data visualization techniques and tools.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and designing for a diverse range of users.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary with remote working flexibility.
- Opportunity to work on a mission-driven project that leverages cutting-edge satellite technology to solve real-world problems in agriculture, commodities, and insurance.
- Collaborate with a global team of engineers, data scientists, and product managers to shape the future of geospatial technology.
- Work with state-of-the-art data visualization tools and technologies.
- Growth opportunities within a fast-paced and rapidly expanding startup.
How to Apply:
Please submit your resume, a cover letter, and a portfolio of relevant work demonstrating your experience in UI/UX design for data-driven platforms or geospatial applications. Include examples of user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes that highlight your design process and problem-solving approach.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Join us in creating intuitive, powerful, and visually stunning interfaces that will shape the future of satellite imagery and geospatial analysis!
