Job Category: Frontend Software Engineer
Job Type: Part Time
Job Location: Remote

About Us:

We are an innovative startup developing a satellite imagery analysis platform for the agriculture, commodity trading, and insurance sectors. Our platform leverages real-time satellite data and cutting-edge machine learning models to provide predictive insights on crop health, yield forecasts, and risk assessments. We’re building tools that empower businesses to make informed decisions based on actionable geospatial data.

To accelerate our development, we are seeking a talented Frontend Software Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building user-friendly, interactive web applications, with a focus on data visualization and geospatial tools.

Responsibilities:

As a Frontend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the user interface and experience of our satellite imagery platform. Your work will help turn complex data into intuitive, actionable insights for our customers. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain responsive, scalable, and intuitive user interfaces for the satellite imagery analysis platform using modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, or Angular).
  • Implement interactive data visualizations, charts, and geospatial tools for analyzing satellite imagery and related data (e.g., vegetation indices, weather patterns).
  • Collaborate with the backend development team and data scientists to integrate APIs and display real-time data insights.
  • Ensure that the UI is optimized for performance and accessibility, and functions smoothly across a range of devices and browsers.
  • Work with product managers and designers to create a user-friendly experience that simplifies satellite imagery analysis for commodity traders, insurers, and agriculture professionals.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and help establish best practices for frontend development.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and debug applications, ensuring a high level of reliability and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in frontend development, with expertise in React, Vue.js, or Angular.
  • Proven experience in building responsive web applications with a focus on data visualization and interactive interfaces.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating backend services into frontend applications.
  • Familiarity with geospatial tools and libraries (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, D3.js) and experience working with mapping APIs is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX principles, with a focus on creating user-friendly experiences for data-heavy applications.
  • Knowledge of version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines for frontend deployment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams, strong communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bonus: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) or working on geospatial data platforms is a plus.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary with remote working flexibility.
  • Opportunity to work on a high-impact project that combines geospatial technology, AI, and agriculture.
  • Collaborate with a global, diverse team of talented engineers, data scientists, and industry experts.
  • Access to cutting-edge satellite data and tools.
  • Growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding startup.

How to Apply:

Interested candidates should submit their resume, portfolio, and a brief cover letter detailing their experience and why they’re excited about joining our project.

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and encourage applications from all backgrounds and locations. Join us as we revolutionize the use of satellite imagery in agriculture, commodities, and insurance markets!
