About Us:
We are an innovative startup building a cutting-edge satellite imagery analysis platform that serves the agriculture, commodity trading, and insurance industries. Our platform leverages real-time satellite data and advanced machine learning models to deliver actionable insights, such as crop health monitoring, yield forecasting, and risk management.
To support our growth and ensure the reliability of our platform, we are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect / DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and manage a robust cloud infrastructure for processing and analyzing large-scale geospatial datasets.
Responsibilities:
As a Cloud Architect / DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability. Specific responsibilities include:
- Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure for the storage and processing of large satellite imagery and geospatial datasets using AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment, testing, and integration processes, ensuring smooth delivery of features across environments.
- Optimize the platform’s performance and scalability, ensuring it can handle growing amounts of real-time data from satellite sources and machine learning models.
- Work closely with backend developers, data scientists, and GIS specialists to ensure seamless integration between cloud services and the platform’s core functionality.
- Implement best practices for security, data protection, and compliance, including monitoring access, encryption, and backups of sensitive geospatial data.
- Manage containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes to deploy and scale microservices and applications.
- Set up and maintain monitoring systems (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure high availability and performance of the platform.
- Optimize cloud costs by managing resource allocation, usage monitoring, and designing cost-efficient architectures.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, ensure uptime, and develop disaster recovery plans to mitigate risks.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in cloud architecture and DevOps, with a focus on building scalable, secure cloud environments for data-intensive applications.
- Expertise in AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure platforms, with proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications.
- Strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible for automating the deployment of infrastructure.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for deploying and scaling microservices.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitLab CI.
- Experience working with large-scale geospatial datasets or satellite imagery processing pipelines, with knowledge of tools such as PostGIS, GeoServer, or GDAL.
- Strong understanding of security best practices in the cloud, including encryption, IAM roles, network security, and data governance.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure platform reliability and performance.
- Familiarity with cost optimization strategies for cloud infrastructure and ability to manage resources effectively to balance performance and expenses.
- Bonus:
- Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Kubeflow) for managing complex workflows.
- Knowledge of distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Dask) for processing large geospatial datasets.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary with the flexibility of remote working.
- Opportunity to work on a mission-driven project leveraging satellite data and cloud computing to address key challenges in agriculture, commodities, and insurance.
- Collaborate with a global, diverse team of developers, data scientists, and GIS specialists on cutting-edge technologies.
- Access to state-of-the-art cloud infrastructure and satellite data for real-world applications.
- Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement in a rapidly scaling startup.
How to Apply:
Interested candidates should submit their resume, along with a cover letter detailing their experience in cloud architecture and DevOps, and how it applies to managing large-scale data processing environments. Include examples of previous cloud-based projects or GitHub repositories demonstrating relevant skills.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Join us as we revolutionize the use of satellite imagery in agriculture, commodities, and insurance with advanced cloud technology!
