We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer<\/strong> who will be instrumental in building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our platform. You will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless collection, processing, and analysis of geospatial data from satellite imagery and related data sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Backend Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain the infrastructure that processes and delivers satellite data<\/strong> and predictive analytics<\/strong> to our clients. Specific responsibilities include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Design, develop, and maintain<\/strong> scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs to support the real-time analysis of satellite imagery.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Integrate satellite data sources<\/strong> (e.g., Sentinel-2<\/strong>, Landsat<\/strong>, commercial satellites<\/strong>) and ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and processing of large geospatial datasets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Collaborate with frontend developers<\/strong>, data scientists<\/strong>, and GIS specialists<\/strong> to ensure that data flows seamlessly through the system and is available for visualization and analysis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Implement robust data pipelines for processing<\/strong>, cleaning<\/strong>, and aggregating satellite imagery<\/strong> and associated metadata, ensuring high availability and performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Ensure backend services are reliable<\/strong>, secure<\/strong>, and scalable<\/strong>, particularly for handling large volumes of real-time satellite data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Optimize performance of backend services and databases to handle increasing data load and concurrent user demands.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Participate in code reviews<\/strong>, debugging<\/strong>, and troubleshooting<\/strong> to ensure high-quality and reliable backend systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies<\/strong> and best practices<\/strong> in backend development, cloud computing, and geospatial data management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • 3+ years of experience<\/strong> in backend development with expertise in Python<\/strong>, Node.js<\/strong>, Java<\/strong>, or Go<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Experience building RESTful APIs<\/strong> and working with microservices architecture<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Strong knowledge of databases<\/strong> (both relational and NoSQL), such as PostgreSQL<\/strong>, MongoDB<\/strong>, or Elasticsearch<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure<\/strong> (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and services such as S3<\/strong>, Lambda<\/strong>, and EC2<\/strong> for handling large datasets and real-time data processing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Experience with geospatial data<\/strong> processing and storage, ideally using tools like PostGIS<\/strong>, GDAL<\/strong>, or Geoserver<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Ability to design and maintain data pipelines<\/strong> that process large amounts of satellite imagery, incorporating ETL processes<\/strong> and automation workflows<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Experience with containerization technologies<\/strong> (e.g., Docker<\/strong>, Kubernetes<\/strong>) for deploying and managing scalable applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Knowledge of data security best practices<\/strong>, including encryption, secure APIs, and data access controls.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Bonus<\/strong>: Experience with machine learning pipelines<\/strong> and data processing frameworks<\/strong> (e.g., Apache Spark<\/strong>, Dask<\/strong>, or Hadoop<\/strong>) for handling large datasets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
